WHY IS EVERYONE PREFERRING SOFTWARE OVER HARDWARE?
Currently the trend is pretty clear get a good rank, join a good college and opt for Computer Science.
Everyone around only has one dream that is to join a big product based company be it Google , Microsoft or any other tech giants .
Swipe through social media you will find hundreds of post asking about the best programming language to learn , how to start competitive coding , how to be a ethical hacker !!!!
Everything except hardware, clearly it can be seen that software development is dominating the hardware development scene in the current generation .
But WHY??
Is there any definitive answer ?
Today we shall discuss about that only , that is " Why is software development preferred over hardware development"
There are several reasons behind this , lets start from the first one
1. Monetary condition : Already raising your eyebrows well hold on, will try to explain everything ,
in a country like India which is still a developing nation , software development is far cheaper than anything related to hardware . A mid-end PC and a net connection that's whats all required to start software development , sometimes smartphones are also capable enough to do your job, but just think even if you want to make a basic Arduino project you need to spend about 1000 bucks extra.
2. Lack of quality jobs : Its pretty evident that Hardware lacks the quality or high paying jobs of software , and that whats make young minds fade away from it , To be honest there are loads of job
opportunities but it lacks the marketing and polish of software oriented jobs.
3. Exposure and Competition : Another pretty major factor is exposure , just like jobs , in the hardware field there is very less exposure as compared to software , Every year there are hundreds of coding competitions and hackathons where young peeps can nurture their talent , but contrasting to that there are very few competitions regarding hardware stuff .
After stating all these points , I want to also state that do follow your passion as much as possible ,
if you are interested in hardware do that only, don't run behind the six figure salary .
Self satisfaction is the main criterion.
